Helped UOIT robotics club to design a Mars Rover for a competition. The rover had to overcome Mars like terrain and accomplish several different tasks such as collecting samples, going over specific parts of the terrain, and be remotely operated.
I was specifically worked on designing the steering system, the motor mounts, and the overall mechanical stability of the rover. The steering uses two servo motors which would control the position of the front and rear wheel. As the front wheel moves left, the rear wheel moves right which allows for the rover to turn.
